What is for sale

This is a ground-floor, glass-fronted interior goods shop of about 30 tsubo (roughly 100 square metres) in the Aoyama/Omotesando area of Tokyo, selling European imported furniture and interior goods through both in-store and online sales. It has operated in the area for many years, combining in-person consultative selling with an e-commerce channel. The owner is selling due to lack of a successor and wants a quick sale.

This is an asset (business) transfer, so the buyer acquires the lease rights, fixtures and stock but must set up their own company, re-sign the lease with landlord approval, and re-apply for any accounts or registrations in their own name.

Paying for it

If you stay overseas. No Japanese bank will lend to a new company whose director lives abroad. The realistic stack is your own cash plus asking the owner to take part of the price over 2 to 3 years. That one question is in every Deal Pack.

If you move to Japan. On a visa that lets you run a business, Japan Finance Corporation lends up to ¥72M at about 1 to 2 percent for exactly this. Once you have a Japanese company, the government pays two-thirds of due diligence and registered-broker costs, up to about ¥8M (round 16 closes 6 Nov 2026). You start a bank relationship from zero.
